Olivier,

I have no XShape in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. I did comment out the three lines
that disable use of the DGA extension because VMware will not use
full-screen mode without the DGA extension. Unfortunately, commenting out
the section (which supposedly permits loading the DGA extention) had no
effect on VMware. Here's the section:

Section "Module"

# This loads the DBE extension module.

Load "dbe" # Double buffer extension

# This loads the miscellaneous extensions module, and disables
# initialisation of the XFree86-DGA extension within that module.
# SubSection "extmod"
# Option "omit xfree86-dga" # don't initialise the DGA extension
# EndSubSection

# This loads the font modules
     Load "type1"
     Load "freetype"
     Load "speedo"

# This loads the GLX module
     Load "glx"

EndSection

X.org-6.7 running here. Have you any thoughts on how I can get the
XFree86-DGA extensions running so VMware will go into full-screen mode, and
my Xfce windows will behave as before?

Thanks,

Rich
