4.0.6: Possible Bug

   I had a process hang so I switched to console tty2, logged in as root and
killed the offending process. Then I switched back to tty7. Both the panel
and iconbox backgrounds were present but no icons or other usefull features
were visible or responsive to a rodent bite.

   Killed X and started over.
