SVG icons: still a problem

Hi,
I'm still having trouble using SVG icons with the CVS panel; if I do, they cause the panel to crash. (I've pasted the last message from the month-old thread at the bottom.)
1. I have libsvg and librsvg installed on my system. (I have svgalib too, but realised that this was an unrelated library.) I'm running the current CVS (as of last night). The reverse dependencies show up as follows, so it seems that the panel should be working correctly:
root:andrew$ dep -r libsvg librsvg
media-libs/libsvg:
WORLD FILE media-libs/libsvg
gnome-base/librsvg:
x11-themes/lila-gnome-0.5.1 gnome-base/librsvg
x11-themes/lila-gnome-blue-0.4.2-r1 gnome-base/librsvg
x11-themes/lila-gnome-green-0.4.2-r1 gnome-base/librsvg
x11-themes/lila-gnome-red-0.4.2-r1 gnome-base/librsvg
x11-themes/lila-gnome-white-0.5 gnome-base/librsvg
xfce-base/libxfcegui4-cvs-20040612 >=gnome-base/librsvg-2
xfce-base/xfce4-panel-cvs-20040612 gnome-base/librsvg
xfce-base/xffm-cvs-20040612 >=gnome-base/librsvg-2
xfce-extra/xfce4-icon-theme-cvs-20040823 gnome-base/librsvg
2. I'm fairly sure that the SVG icons themselves are not broken; I'm using the Lila set from some Gentoo users.
Can anyone help resolve this issue? Developers?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew
