Switch to previous desktop

Some time ago (probably on Fri, 05 Nov 2004 21:20:43 +0100)
Olivier Fourdan <fourdan at xfce.org> had occasion to say the following:

That didn't work.  I even tried restarting X.  I hit Alt+2 to go to
workspace 2 and I see a blank workspace.  I hit Alt+1 and go back to my
mail programme.  I hit Alt+1 and see Workspace 2 again.

Am I missing something?
