I don't currently have gdesklets installed on my computer, but I used
to... never had any python problems. Here's what Mandrake's urpmi tells
me I'd have to download to get it working (if I were installing, for
example, the base package and the wireless desklet):

gdesklets-0.26-2mdk.i586
gdesklets-wireless-0.2-2mdk.noarch
gnome-python-2.0.0-3mdk.i586
gnome-python-bonobo-2.0.0-3mdk.i586
gnome-python-canvas-2.0.0-3mdk.i586
gnome-python-gconf-2.0.0-3mdk.i586
pygtk2.0-2.0.0-2mdk.i586
pygtk2.0-wrapper-2.0.0-2mdk.i586
pyorbit-2.0.0-1mdk.i586
python-numeric-23.1-2mdk.i586

I don't know how SUSE handles those packages, but I assume it'd be
close.

FWIW...
Andrew
