GTK replacement for KPPP?

Dave and Nikola, the two state launcher and shell script sounds
effective but beyond me right now.  I tried to figure out how a two
state launcher would be used to connect to an ISP but wasn't quite up to
the job.  Yet, anyway. ;-)   Thanks though,  John
