Icons width clipped on tackbar...

To all and sundry,

First, let me start out by saying that xfce4 is, and continues to be, an
excellent, lightweight, windows manager. Kudos to the developers.

Now to my problem. I've searched this xfce mailing list archives and
google, but have been unable to locate a fix. The setup is I've
installed XFCE 4.05 on my laptop (a Dell something or other with
Slackware 9.1 [upgraded to 10.0] with the X.org Xserver 6.7.0 set to
1024x768 @ 24-bit color). As soon as I fired it up, I noticed that the
icons on the taskbar were clipped. That is, small amounts of the left
and right extents of the taskbar icons were not visible. This does not
preclude my using the applications on the taskbar, it is just extremely
unsightly. I have a desktop (loaded with the same XFCE, OS, and X
settings as above), but the taskbar icons are _not_ clipped as on my
Dell. Therefore, my questions are:

1) How can I make the taskbar display the full extent of the icons?
2) And what (setting?) is causing this behavior?

I hope I have described the problem adequately. If there is some more
information that you all require or screenshots of the irritation,
please let me know.

David
