Does XFCE Know About CUPS?

I'm trying to get a new installation of XFCE 4.0.5 to work with my CUPS
printer, to no avail.

Regardless of what I enter in the "System Name" entry of the "Printer
Management" tool, it prints an error declaring "Neither lp nor lpr was
found in PATH, therefore xfprint was unable to print the file." This
holds true even if I use lp or lpr as the name of the printer (and, yes,
they are in the path).

I've also used the dev name (/dev/lp0) and the CUPS name. Neither
worked.

I'd conclude that xfprint simply doesn't work with CUPS and give up on
XFCE, but the fact that it whines about not finding lp/lpr even if one of
them is identified as the printer makes me wonder if it is just broken,

BTW, the equivalent on my machine to lp and lpr is lpr-cups, but xfprint
doesn't like that, either.
