Thanks! I'll have a look at the icon theme implementation to see what 
might have gone wrong.

Libraries not being found does not appear to be caused by the linker. It 
could be a libtool problem. You could try to recompile the xfce 
libraries and use ./autogen.sh instead of ./configure. I think you might 
need a libtool version 1.5.x.
