Panel/Taskbar idea

Hi there,
Remember all those people who want to combine their panel and taskbar?  Well, in CVS, it seems almost possible, now that you can align both to one side and that you can adjust the width of the taskbar.  I have it pretty well set up myself.

However, it only almost works.  What if the width and height of the taskbar were more easily adjustable (calibrated by pixels?)?  What if one could move it around with Alt+LMouse like one can with the panel?  What if the taskbar's width/height could be bound to the panel's, the taskbar taking what the panel doesn't in width/height?

Sorry I have all these ideas and nada coding skill.  I'm presently trying to learn (C, anyway).  Now that I'm thinking of it, in what language is Xfce written?
