I only want Streamtuner to work with it's local plug-in. It does now. Just using "streamtuner" doesn't. I am not a coder or anything like that, merely a Xfce user, so bear with my ignorance. However, this is where I found the information on getting the local plug-in to work, which again resulted in my initial question on launching Streamtuner from the panel:
