gamma correction in 4.1.0

I assume this uses the xfree86 4.3.0 xrandr extensions for resolution
and gamma control?  Does that API have a way to find out if a particular
card supports a given feature so that the unsupported controls can be
greyed out with a "not supported by your x server" message.
