Xinerama is already very good. What you see is rather a limitation of
the older EWMH specs.

Partial struts (asdefines in EWMH 1.3 and above) should fix that problem
once we have it implemented. In the mean time, by shifting by only 1 pix
your screen layout, it shoud help in fixing the problem you report.
