I'm not quite sure what you're asking.  To do what I'm suggesting, you
have to install pieces of software--the XMMS-status-docklet plugin and
devilspie (and of course XMMS).  You don't have to mess with any source
code.  The most coding you have to do is to edit an .xml file for
devilspie, whose process I outline in the tutorial.
