yes, this is an occasional irritant.

how difficult wd it be to have all applications start on the desktop
which is current when the instruction to start them is given ?
it wd seem to be a matter of telling the launcher which desktop we're on
rather than leaving it to look which one we've arrived at
since the launch command was issued.
