Eterm in current Desktop?

I am unable to open Eterm on the current desktop with out providing the 
--desktop xx option.  This happens whether I run it via ALT-F2, mini 
command line, or right click 'Teminal'.  I changed my default terminal 
with the following command:
export TERMCMD="Eterm --trans off --background-pixmap none --borderless off"

Every time I open Eterm, it appears on the first desktop of 21 multiple 
desktops.  This occurs irrelevant to the currently active desktop.

Anyone got any ideas.
