gpilot crashes

Hi folks,  

running the .deb packages of xfce-rc4 still (sorry, don't want to
compile myself).  Been having trouble getting evolution to sync with
my palm pilot while in xfce -- gpilotd keeps crashing soon as I open
the "pilot settings".  I think this is an issue with gnome-pilot, but
gnome-pilot DOES work under gnome2.2.  Any suggestions on how to try
and fix this?
