Customizing keys

Hmm. Except that it hasn't worked - the keythemerc file is in
~/.themes/xfwm4/custom.keys as you said, and contains my desired new key
settings. However, I'm still getting the old ones used.

Should I have changed something within ~/.xfce4 also?
