Yes, and would be much simpler if xfdesktop's can disable pseudo-root-window 
at all.
I was confused quite sometime why chbg, and some games (xpenguins, xsnow, 
..) do not work.

Hey, do you know this trick ...
* Run xfdesktop with a solid background
* Set background with chbg
* Run ATerm
