Debian packages - libxfce4util.so.0

The xfce4 debian packages yield the following errors:

xfce-mcs-manager: error while loading shared libraries: libxfce4util.so.0: 
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
xfce-mcs-manager: error while loading shared libraries: libxfce4util.so.0: 
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
** Message: xfwm4: Workspace count not set, using rc value: 4
xftaskbar4: error while loading shared libraries: libxfce4util.so.0: cannot 
open shared object file: No such file or directory
xfdesktop: error while loading shared libraries: libxfce4util.so.0: cannot 
open shared object file: No such file or directory
** Message: xfce4-panel: Running without session manager
xfce-mcs-manager: error while loading shared libraries: libxfce4util.so.0: 
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory


Poking around the system it seems that the debs depend upon libxfce4util-1 
which provides libxfce4util.so.1 The only other package available on debian 
is libxfce4util-0, but this conflicts with libxfce4util-1.

Any solutions?
