Where to run applications like terminal windows that I always want

Aha, thanks! I've not being paying really close attention to the list
for a while since I was sort of stuck in a rut with 3.18.8. That's
the obvious way to do it of course though, a shell script to start
lots of things in ~/Desktop/Autostart.

Yes, I realised this after digging around a bit in the archives and
some Google searches, xfce4-session is what I'm looking for and it's
not part of the stable release yet. I may well give it a try though.
