LANG and Launcher

Sorry if I'm an idiot, but I can't seem to figure this out. I recently
installed straw and wanted to add a launcher for it. The problem is
straw requires LANG (or similar) to be defined in my environment. I
don't have it defined because I never needed it defined, I guess. So,
until I look and see if LANG is good to have defined in env, I know I
can run straw with the command:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8 straw
But, when I copied that into a launcher I get and error dialog:
Could not run command: LANG=en_US.UTF-8:
Failed to execute child process "LANG=en_US.UTF-8" (No such file or
directory)
So, how do I run LANG=x commands like this in launchers (I'm sure
someone has done it with acroread and Red Hat)?
