xinitrc is not mentioned

Hi!

When I start xfce through gdm, there seems to be no file which is
executed berfore xfce, so I am unable to load xscreensaver.

According to the documentation of xfce, I copied
/usr/local/etc/xfce4/xinitrc into "~/.xfce4/". But this file is also not
executed.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
