Disappearing Apps

I've noticed that XMMS sometimes disappears from the task bar (3.8.18). 
I can minimize all the other windows and XMMS will be on the desktop -
just not in the task bar.  I run XMMS with the playlist and Equalizer
open and docked to XMMS.  The playlist and equalizer windows will still
show on the task bar but not the XMMS main window.

I'm curious as to what might cause this - it's no big deal but I'm
curious.
