Changing xfterm color or running xterm

You can use truetype font too. ie.
xterm -fa "lucida console" -fs 10
or
xterm -fa "Comic Sans MS" -fs 12

You must have the truetype fonts ( the .ttf files ) in your font path and 
set your system and X for these fonts.
See man xset for X. I can't help you with linux because I don't know this 
os.
