New debian files

I notice that there are new debian files for xfce4 in my unstable 
repositories. When I issue a dist-upgrade, I find the following:

The following packages will be REMOVED:
  xfce4 xfwm4-themes
The following packages will be upgraded:
  xfce4-mcs-manager xfce4-mcs-plugins xfwm4

Can I assume it's okay to let this dist-upgrade remove xfce4 and replace it 
with nothing? I kind of think that's okay, as xfce4 is just a metapackage. I 
see thqt xfwm4 replaces xfwm4-themes, so that sound fine.
