Window manager hints error?

Happy holidays,
I've got the following error on XFCE4-4.0.1, and the latest (but not on
4.0.0):
"Your window manager does not seem to support the new window manager
hints as defined by http://www.freedesktop.org. Some XFCE features may
not work as intended"

Sure enough! I have no window decorations, and my focus doesn't move
with the mouse.

Have I borked something in a config file?
