still having Zombie problems

So I downloaded xfce-devel from CVS and ran autogen.sh and configure...
but it bombs looking for glib2 which tells me this is xfce4. The
changelog of xfce-stable stops at 3.8.16, so 3.8.18 must be in
xfce-devel, right? Is there some configure switch telling it to make 3
instead of 4?
