xfsamba size problem

When I start xfsamba samba browser in xfce 3.8.16 on linranet linux 
(debian) the window size is stretched all the way off the screen to the 
right and it goes on almost forever. When I drag it back to the left is 
takes about 10 full screen drags to find the right side of the window! 
Is there a place to control starting window sizes that might be messed 
up? Other windows seem OK.
