xfsamba & samba strangeness follow-up

A while back I had mentioned that I was having a problem with
xfsamba and smbmount, etc. As a user I was unable to get any shares to
mount. The other day I tried running xfsamba as root and it all worked
smoothly. I thought maybe is was a permissions problem but all the smb*
files were suid root so that "shouldn't" be the problem. This is under RH
7.3 (I haven't tried under 8.0 but I'm going to take that off and put 7.3
on that system).
Anyway, just wanted to follow up and pass this on. I know that
problem is with the smb* files and not xfsamba, OC.
