WP 8.0 and xfwm

Patrick,

While WP8 is known to be quite buggy, at least from an X point of view
(WP8 is based on an older version of Wine), I doubt it's related to
xfwm.

Any application is able to query the screen size and set its dimensions
accordingly. The window manager is not involved in that process.

You may want to try with another window manager. Note that some window
manager might choose to resize the window so it fits the screen, but
it's not the policy in xfwm.
