Olivier,

  I left out the description of that step because I took for granted that I
rebuilt the package.

  The specific syntax I use (with /usr/src/redhat/SPECS as the pwd) is:

rpm -ba --target=<whatever> xfce.spec
 
> Once built, simply install your newly created rpm

  That's what I did -- except I used the Update option.
