I added two attachments, one is called thinice-gtk, the other one is celled xfce-trench.png.
If you compare the pictures (don't look at the colors yet) you'll note two kind of differences:
1) the button styles: this is done with the thinice/xfce theme resp. set in the Palette TAB (see img)
2) the border styles: this is done with the gtk/trench theme resp. set in the Windows TAB.
You can alter the colors in xfce using a different palette (use load button in palette TAB).#
To alter a lot of settings at once [icons, sounds, backdrop, colors, fonts & themes]: use a 'skin'.
Skins can be found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xfskin. If you are using current xfce version
xfskin should be installed on your system allready, it is part of release 3.8.16.
