Disabling screensaver

Hey, I've noticed the window manager starts up
xscreensaver. Is there a way to disable that?
xscreensaver sometimes tends to cause repainting
problems when I unlock it. My screen is copied
multiple times all over the place. Anyway, I'd like to
use xlock instead. It works better for me.
