Thanks for the reminder. I never thought about this. If you compile xfce 
yourself, you can modify the list of directories that xfmenu looks for in 
the source code. It's all in xfmenu/xfmenu.c.
Also it should work if KDEDIR is set to /opt/kde3. Can you check if this is 
the case for you?

I'll make the change tonight (unless someone else wants to do it earlier) 
so it will be in the upcoming new release.
