I hope, that after release the XFCE 4.10, soon they will be part of the
Debian project (not, i am not debian xfce nor debian live teams member),
and then, after some days, they will be part of the Debian live project,
which ships testing with XFCE too.

You are right, all people, which know how do it, will compile it for
yourself. Some others will compile it for others too.

But live CD can be good advertising, the best (live) presentation of the
properties and feel, which is not possible to present by simple article or
image(s). And it can be good presentation for both:

- - the one which can (know) compile it to show why to compile it, and
- - the one, which don't know compile it and then cannot try it.
