[Xfce-i18n] How to build xfdesktop doc

I'm trying to build xfdesktop on a VM in an attempt to test the package 
translation but, although the package itself get compiled and I can see 
the modified translation on the configuration menu and desktop, I cannot 
get the documentation to compile (on the "doc/LL/" subdirectory I always 
have a xfdesktop.html dated back to 2009 that did'n get updated).
I'm under Xubuntu 9.10 and I use the ./autogen.sh && make && sudo make 
install commands to compile.
