I do the same, adhering to the Dutch language's rules.

One reason for this is that that's what's at the Dutch Team's wiki page:
http://i18n.xfce.org/wiki/team_nl. I'd check if such a page exists for Spain
and if it's not added yet, add a note about this. I'd go for your language's
rules and live with the translations as they are currently.
