That script is for anonymous users by default, please try

  $ mkdir xfce4-svn
  $ cd xfce4-svn
  $ svn co -N http://svn.xfce.org/svn/xfce ./
  $ svn up -N thunar
  $ svn up thunar/trunk

if that works, then the script itself has a certain flaw.
