[Xfce-foundation] Help on writing applications in xfce

Hi

I have been a keen amateur application programmer for many years working 
on RISC OS.

Having recently switched to xubuntu I'd like to try my hand at writing 
apps for the xfce environment.

Is there a simple guide to getting started ?  I found the Xfce 
Foundation Class through a Google search, but all the links seem to be 
very old / expired.
