automake trouble (?)

The only way I can get xfce to compile is by removing the last line in
configure.in, which is a sed command to create po/Makefile from
po/Makefile.in. However, this file is already created by AC_OUTPUT
(...). Am I the only one having this problem? Does it work for others if
this line is removed? 
I don't really mind changing the file every time, but if it works for
everybody by removing this line that would be even better, I'd say.
