Improved reproducer, which always works on the first try for me:
./thunar/thunar -q;./thunar/thunar network:// &
./thunar/thunar /home/schwinn/foo/bar

Reproducer works as well if some other root-node than "network://" is used. For
some reason "computer://"  and "trash://" do not work for the reproducer ...
possibly the root needs to be below the usb to reproduce.
