Hi, there are a few things that can in theory go wrong when trying to save a
profile, but you can check the "display" channel in xfce4-settings-editor.
There you should find your profile (the "name" you gave it is in the value
column, not the property column).

Some obvious things that could be failing is if the display / driver doesn't
report an EDID. This is rare, but it would break the profile mechanism. Please
check if that is the case and ideally attach your
$HOME/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/displays.xml.
