Thanks for reporting and sorry for the late reply !

I dont get thunar to crash, using the proposed reproducer, neither using
SIGKILL, nor SIGTERM.

I tried with thunar 1.6.15, 1.6.17 and thunar 1.8.6 .. 

For me in both cases the result is: empty folder view and no icon in address
bar any more, which IMO should be fine.

Please could you attach a backtrace with debug symbols ?
