Well, if you dont want to use the workaround, I am sorry.

Thunar does not have such a feature currently.

I reopened an old request for this feature and will close this one as
duplicate.

Well, then why was the 'changes the emblem' section of the folder added if this
section does not work at all? How did you start working on it, yes?
