            Bug ID: 15637
Summary: .svg including instruction ' font-family="sans-serif"
                    ' are rendered with serifs
    Classification: Apps
           Product: Ristretto
           Version: 0.8.2
          Hardware: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: General
          Assignee: xfce-bugs at xfce.org
          Reporter: nbehrnd at yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 8675
  --> https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=8675&action=edit
example pyridine as .svg, rendered differently (with serifs)

The observation is quite similar to the one just deposit as a bug for the image
viewer «eye of gnome» under

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/eog/issues/65

I have a number of chemical structures plot by openbabel natively in the .svg
format. Despite these include
the explicit statement to render characters in a non-serif format, ristretto
displays them with serifs. So far, I
do not see an option to instruct ristretto «differently»; to the best of my
current knowledge, only cairosvg
offering a conversion to .pdf or inkscape interpret the corresponding line
correctly.

System setup:
Xubuntu 18.04.2 LTS 64 bit,
cairosvg 2.4.0,
ristretto 0.8.2
