Bug ID: 16303
Summary: Adding a gamma option to the display-settings
Classification: Xfce Core
Product: Xfce4-settings
Version: 4.14.1
Hardware: PC (x86)
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: Medium
Component: Display Settings
Assignee: xfce-bugs at xfce.org
Reporter: to.213692 at protonmail.ch
Target Milestone: Xfce 4.14
Changes from a few years ago that let users change their gamma settings for
screens were apparently never merged, because "colord is the way to go."
(https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10069). However, I don't think so.
- To create diplay profiles a colorimeter is required
- People (for example me) want to make two monitors have somewhat similar
colors by changing the gamma per channel and per monitor.
- Xorg.conf gamma settings are not respected by xfce, xfconf and display.xml
doesn't provide means to change the gamma apparently. Settings applied using
xrandr --gamma are discarded when games launch.
I made a somewhat longer description on this here:

Thanks! :)
Kind Regards,
Tobi
(It was said at https://xfce.org/community that this is also a place for ideas,
so I hope this is fine. https://bugzilla.xfce.org/page.cgi?id=bug-writing.html
doesn't mention guidelines for writing reports like this though. And I didn't
quite know if answering to a years old thread is bad practice just like in
regular forums so I created this new report.)
