I cannot reproduce here, for me there is no crash, but as well no thumbnail.
I cannot open the .svg with gimp. It looks like it is broken for some reason ?

If I download this one
https://www.riusma.com/web/doc/plasma/riusma-kde-plasma-5-16-wallpaper-2019-starry-night-on-matterhorn-def-001.svg
there is no problem.

Though I dont know where to get the original svg of the "dusk" version from the
webpage. Could you please drop a link ?
