And depends on the used archiver. With file-roller I get the dialog. But could
be different for e.g. XArchiver or arc.

You are right, it does not make much sense to fix the problem in each
application using GtkFileChooserDialog.
Much better would be to fix it inside gtk3 itself .. so I will close this bug.
