Bug ID: 14778
Summary: Thunar is unable to restore its windows after reboot
Classification: Xfce Core
Product: Thunar
Version: 1.8.2
Hardware: Other
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Medium
Component: General
Assignee: xfce-bugs at xfce.org
Reporter: luc.secouard at laposte.net
CC: benny at xfce.org, hjudt at xfce.org
Target Milestone: 1.8.3
In the session preferences, I have checked the box to save and restore session
state. After reboot, the Thunar windows are not restored.
With "dmesg" we can see that Thunar has crashed during the reboot. Looking in
"~/.cache/sessions", it seems that the file containing the URIs has not been
created (file whose name starts with "Thunar"). It is likely the cause of the
crash during reboot. So, there is probably a bug when Thunar tries to save the
state of its windows.
I have encountered this issue with version 1.8.x on Manjaro. The issue didn’t
exist with versions prior to 1.8.x. And it doesn’t exist on Xubuntu which still
uses version 1.6.15.
